The Woodleys of Essex can be grouped into 14 distinct families., ten of whom seem to be descended from Roger Woodley who died in the village of Henham south of Saffron Walden in 1502 during the reign of Henry VII and was buried at St Mary's Henham. However there are four other families that seem to be separate from the ‘main’ family and the connextions are at best tenuous.
